You are always talking to an AI. Every reply in the chat, every game explanation and every report is generated by an artificial intelligence, not written by a person in the moment. The replies are labelled as AI in the app, and nothing here pretends otherwise.
What it is for. A calm, neutral third voice to think a relationship situation through with — on your own, or with the other person in the conversation. It takes no side, offers readings and suggestions, and asks questions. It is a self-help tool.
What it is not. It is not therapy, counselling, medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a crisis service. AI replies can be wrong, incomplete or miss what matters. Significant decisions about your life and relationships are yours, ideally made with people who know you and, where it fits, a qualified professional.
The model. Replies are produced by a general-purpose language model from OpenAI, accessed through their API. Your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply and are not used to train their models. We do not train any model on your conversations.
Safety behaviour. The AI is instructed never to take sides unfairly, and to stop giving ordinary communication advice when a conversation suggests abuse, coercive control, danger, an eating disorder, self-harm or suicidal thoughts — instead it points to the relevant support line for your country. This is a safeguard, not a guarantee: it can miss things. If you are in danger, contact emergency services.
No profiling for ads, no manipulation. Nothing you say is used to target advertising. The app is deliberately built without fake urgency, streaks, guilt or pressure to keep you talking.
Human oversight. A person reviews how the AI behaves in aggregate and may read individual exchanges to investigate a safety problem or a fault, under the Privacy Policy. Nobody reads conversations for any other purpose.
Your controls. You can delete any message, conversation or remembered fact, export everything, or delete your account from Settings. Questions or concerns about the AI: support@3rdchair.ai.
